This body of work validates a Cuban heritage while letting go of a traumatic past. This is done by the assemblage of Santeria altars, with the main sacrifice and center piece being an item from a traumatic past. The altar is detailed to fit each item, giving each altar a central theme. The altar is then photographed and deconstructed. The only remaining on location is the center item (from the past). This documented performance studies redefining and validating a traumatic past and the process of creating a found object.
